A chemical peel is used to resurface the skin in order to treat wrinkles, skin discoloration and scars. A chemical peel is applied to the surface layer of the skin, then, peeled away to remove the top layers. The skin that grows back after a chemical peel is smoother and healthier.

There are different types of chemical peels that use different chemical solutions. These can be used as stand-alone treatments or in combination with other cosmetic procedures to improve skin texture and tone.

After treatment, it may be necessary to avoid sun exposure for several months (according to what your physician recommends).
